The Memory of Lemuria

Acrylic on canvas · 100 × 100 cm

Memory of Lemuria is a painting about memory, light and the bond between a human being and a lost world.

At the centre of the composition appears an extraordinary, luminous bud — a symbol of life, of spiritual awakening and of a memory that has endured despite the passing of time. It floats above an open hand, as if growing from it or being protected by it. On the other side stands an ethereal Priestess, turned toward the light of the flower. Her figure remains without distinct facial features, so that she is not a particular person but a symbol of the guardian of memory and of ancient knowledge.

In the background appear sunken ruins, mountains and a calm sheet of water — traces of a world that has passed, yet whose presence can still be found.

Turquoise, deep blues, green and cool silver contrast with the warmth of the human hand and the delicate golden lines. Golden ornaments and luminous connections form a symbolic network of energy linking the Priestess, the bud and the space above them.

Memory of Lemuria is my artistic, symbolic vision of Lemuria — not an attempt to depict a specific place, but a story about memory, intuition, spiritual heritage and the search for the light that remains within us.
