The Light of Atlantis

Acrylic on canvas · 100 × 100 cm

«The Light of Atlantis» is a story about the memory of a world that vanished, yet whose light may still be present in our imagination.

Among the sunken ruins appears the mysterious figure of Poseidon – guardian of the ancient world and of its knowledge. Luminous crystals, a temple, arches and a road leading toward the light create a space suspended between reality and remembrance. Above the whole composition a delicate golden geometry has been stretched out, resembling an energetic map that connects the individual places and symbols.

Light here is not merely a physical phenomenon. It is a symbol of memory, of knowledge and of inner awakening. The road leading from the depths of the painting toward the temple may also be a metaphor for one's own path – the search for what has been forgotten, yet perhaps still exists deep within us.

«The Light of Atlantis» is the first painting opening my collection «Lost Civilizations».
